There are so many delusions, it is difficult to chose one. NKT's core delusion.
The most problematic is NKT's insistence on trying to change Tibetan religious and political leadership and institute Kelsang Gyatso as Tibet's last hope for perfection. The Dalai Lama serves NKT's purpose to vilify and to assemble protests around the world and numerous web sites to attack and ridicule in order to tarnish Tibetan Buddhism, Tibet and Tibetans.
However, likely NKT's core delusion is NKT founder Kelsang Gyatso's pitch that Tibet's most feared ghost Shugden and the highly respected Tibetan Lama Tsongkhapa are the same being.
According to Kelsang Gyatso and his western Shugden tradition that began in England in 1991,
"Je Tsongkhapa appears as Dharma protector Dorje Shugden to prevent his doctrine from degenerating...he also appears as Kalarupa...Dorje Shugden's former reincarnations and Je Tsongkhapa's former reincarnations were same. So it is clear that Je Tsongkhapa and Dorje Shugden are the same mental continuum...one person but different aspects."
Clear to whom beyond Kelsang Gyatso and NKT? Based on what facts? Based on whose facts?
Kelsang Gyatso also claims that Tsongkhapa appeared as Shugden during Buddha's time as Bodhisattva Manjushri and several other Shugden incarnations before Tsongkhapa was born. Then, why was Tsongkhapa either so ignorant or so secretive about Shugden, his alleged predecessor and alternate identity? Did Tsongkhapa really have a split personality? Could Tsongkhapa have been schizophrenic? Or, is it that NKT's politics is wrong?
Words of a Buddha according to NKT
(garbled as they are ridiculous)
NKT pitches Kelsang Gyatso as a Buddha with infinite knowledge and understanding (except perhaps fluency with English), and only the third living Buddha ever on this earth (even though Kelsang Gyatso promises quick Buddhahood to anyone following his unique tantric methods and empowerments he sells to westerners).
Recommendation: after reading any of the numerous writings of Tsongkhapa, consider the prudence of worshiping Kelsang Gyatso a Buddha and devoting one's life to anger and deception - the hallmarks of NKT monks, nuns, resident teachers and members)
Even more clear is that if Tsongkhapa taught and wrote today what he did when he was alive (1357-1419) (and Buddha Shakyamuni for that matter two thousand years earlier), Kelsang Gyatso and NKT would demonize and ridicule him for the same reasons they attack the 14 Dalai Lamas, whose history spans several hundred years - because neither did Tsongkhapa embrace NKT's Shugden and purpose to destroy disbelievers.
'Tsongkhapa, stop lying....give religious freedom' NKT would chant...and recycle its protest posters.
In the name of Tsongkhapa, Kelsang Gyatso would order his followers to march against Tsongkhapa to force NKT Shugdenism upon Tsongkhapa and blame him for destroying Tsongkhapa's lineage and Tibetan Buddhism.
Tsongkhapa, who died about 200 years before the Shugden ghost was allegedly created, never taught or wrote about Shugden, especially not Kelsang Gyatso's glorified and westernized Shugdenism.
One wonders, if Kelsang Gyatso is right, why Tsongkhapa did not know himself and why Tsongkhapa is so impotent in preventing the degeneration in Tibetan Buddhism that NKT manufactures and then exploits for profit and notoriety.
What Kelsang Gyatso and his NKT are doing to Tsongkhapa's and Buddha Shakyamuni's beautiful legacy is shameful.
