Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending a Buddhist service with about 50 others.
No money focus, no politics, no Shugden, no war, no ulterior motives, no scandals, no finger pointing, no name calling, no threats, no lawsuits, no slander, no smear campaign, no megalomania, no pop psychology, no ego feeding, no arrogance, no pretention, no NKT. No promises of quick enlighment for folowing Kelsang Gyatso, yet to be achieved by anyone believing in NKT since it began 25 years ago. This NKT promise, featured in many of Kelsang Gyatso's books, has produced millions of dollars/pounds in donations/purchases for NKT bank accounts and political campaigns.
It was a simple dedication, teaching and gathering.
I overheard a benefactor describing Buddhism as a philosophy and way of life, not a faith.
