Concerns Expressed

Following the Dalai Lama's address in England September 18, 2015, Tibetans and NKT survivors met to discuss.

One of the Tibetans said,

“I want to thank the organisers as well as two of the brave survivors to speak out on so called New Kadampa Tradition. I am going to say a brief about Global Tibetan volunteers for truth. I am Kharpak and I am the head of GTVT’s Switzerland Branch. The GTVT movement was started due to so called New Kadampa Tradition or International Shugden Community carrying out various anti-Tibetan Buddhism, anti-Tibetan tradition and heritage. The organisation is an initiative of individual Tibetans without any outer influences or pushes. Today GTVT has branches throughout world in USA, Europe, India and Nepal and inside Tibet.

The aims are to tell the truth about the organisation that engages in destroying and defaming Tibet’s unique Buddhism, tradition and cultural heritage. We have witnessed attempts to misuse Tibetan Buddhism and try to mislead and delude Tibetans’ highly valued and unique Buddhist values and we cannot let them fool the general public to some extent like in England. We cannot sit back and witness the defaming of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and baseless accusation against the Tibetan government in Exile. As a Tibetan who believer in Karmic consequences; it is our duty to confront these wrong doers.

Today we have organised a small protest in front of so called New Kadampa Centre, it is just a beginning. We have no doubt that Tibetans in and outside Tibet are with us. Buddhism is help the people and people who engage in help and promotion virtuous deed are appreciated and we are strongly against the people who are engaging in misuse of Buddhism as tool to fool people. We are against these people not in a negative way; we will try to persuade to follow the right path.

Today I take this opportunity to set the record straight that His Holiness the Dalai Lama is the very essence of Tibetan race. To protest against His Holiness the Dalai Lama is protest against Buddhism, protest against Tibetans in and outside Tibet and protest against three provinces of Tibet. Therefore I urge people do their study and conduct thorough investigation before joining so called NKT. In future as well, we will continue our work and disseminate truth to the general public.”

Concluding remark “We as followers of Buddhism; we will tell the truth about them. We knew that their (NKT) teaching is not Buddhism. If we remain silent; many more will drag into their fake Buddhism. Similarly NKT survivors have lot of inside knowledge on so called NKT and it their duty to tell the whole truth without holding back. I urge you to tell the truth to avoid more people being fooled.”

Tibetan Community UK states:

Khar Phak makes a very valid point by highlighting that the harassment and protests with false allegations by the NKT (New Kadampa Tradition) shugden protesters against the Tibetan Spiritual Leader is not a mere protest against the 14th Dalai Lama as a person.

For Tibetans, His Holiness the Dalai Lama is their beloved Leader, who is their best spiritual and moral guide.

For Tibetans, the Dalai Lama is the symbol of their peaceful Tibetan Nation, who represents them on the international stage.

For Tibetans, the Great 14th Dalai Lama is the protector of the Buddha Dharma, who imparts the Buddhist knowledge and moral ethics the Tibetan Spiritual Leader practised over the past nearly 80 years to the global audience for their benefits.

In short, the baseless allegations and attacks by the NKT shugden protesters (masterminded by their few misguided leaders) on the Dalai Lama represents a wholesale assault on the Tibetan people (who live both under the ongoing Chinese oppressive rule and in free democratic countries around the world) and their cultural heritage. "

Others from England also spoke. For example...

And,

Why is Kelsang Gyatso using NKT to assault? Politics against Tibet, Tibetan Buddhism and the Dalai Lama...ultimately, against Buddha Shakyamuni and Tsongkhapa. Also, because it is a profitable business and it inflates ego.
