Second Largest Cult

Based on its complaint against nktworld.org, NKT has hundreds of thousands of followers. INFORM reports that NKT generates the second most inquiries.

This may make NKT the world's second largest cult.

Seemingly endless complaints and analyses have been published about NKT, including before nktworld.org began.

A new repository found today is the Cult Education Institute.

INFORM (Information Network Focus on Religious Movements)
Inform is an independent charity that was founded in 1988 with the support of the British Home Office and the mainstream Churches with the aim of obtaining and making available objective and up-to-date information about new religious movements or 'cults'.

In 2014, INFORM reported...

"Inform has concerns that those becoming involved with the NKT-IKBU are not fully aware of the controversial status this group within the wider Tibetan community. Those new to Tibetan Buddhism are unlikely to have an educated understanding of complex and contested history of the figure of Dorje Shugden in Tibetan history and theology."

In 2011, INFORM distributed a brochure warning about extremism on university campuses. It listed NKT as one of 10 groups that have raised a significant number of questions.

Perhaps, NKT is seeking to be number one.
